Burmese in Fort Wayne published local Burmese monthly for the community

                Burmese community living in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, published community monthly newsletter in Burmese language on 26th July 2009. It was given with the name – “Phoo Pwint Wai”, meaning “Budding Flowers”. It was the first ever newsletter published by Burmese community in Fort Wayne voluntarily.

 

           The launching ceremony of the newsletter was coincided with the 67th birthday of Burmese classical singer, Mar Mar Aye, long term residence of Fort Wayne and one of the founders of the newsletter. Newsletter volunteers and some folks of the Burmese community gathered at her home both celebrating her birthday and for the newsletter publication. The newsletter “Phoo Pwint Wai” shall be presenting news and articles of Burmese community in Fort Wayne and also be focusing on social and cultural articles of the Burmese.
